1. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply when you create an account, use the 4muddypawz app, submit training clips, receive AI-assisted feedback, access training materials, or buy Academy access or another paid product.

4muddypawz operates the app. “We”, “us”, and “our” mean 4muddypawz.

By using the app, you agree to these terms.

2. The service

4muddypawz is an AI-assisted dog training accountability app. It helps owners follow a guided training pathway, practise short games, record training reps, receive feedback, and track progress.

The app may include:

  • training instructions
  • game pathways
  • recording and upload tools
  • AI-assisted video feedback
  • pass/remain assessments
  • progress tracking
  • reports and next steps
  • paid Academy access or other paid areas

The app is a coaching aid. It is not a substitute for professional judgement, veterinary advice, emergency help, or in-person support where needed.

3. Account eligibility

You must be at least 18 to create an account.

You must provide accurate account information and keep your login access secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.

4. Dog training safety

You are responsible for your dog, your filming environment, and your training decisions.

You agree to:

  • supervise your dog at all times
  • choose a safe training space
  • use suitable rewards and equipment
  • stop if your dog appears distressed, injured, frightened, over-aroused, aggressive, or unsafe
  • avoid unsafe handling, force, intimidation, or punishment
  • avoid training near roads, hazards, uncontrolled dogs, or other unsafe distractions
  • seek qualified professional help where needed

Do not use the app in an emergency. If there is immediate risk to a person or animal, stop and seek appropriate help.

5. Not veterinary, clinical behaviour, legal, or emergency advice

4muddypawz does not diagnose pain, illness, injury, aggression, anxiety disorders, or other health or behavioural conditions.

The app may notice visible training or handling issues, but it cannot replace:

  • a vet
  • a qualified clinical animal behaviourist
  • an accredited in-person trainer
  • legal advice
  • emergency services

If your dog shows signs of pain, fear, aggression, persistent distress, sudden behaviour change, or risk to people/animals, stop using the exercise and seek qualified support.

6. AI-assisted feedback

AI feedback is based on what can be seen and heard in your submitted clip. It may be incomplete or wrong if:

  • the dog is out of frame
  • the handler’s hands are hidden
  • the audio is unclear
  • the clip is too dark, short, distant, shaky, or noisy
  • the wrong game is selected
  • the relevant behaviour happens off camera
  • the dog’s body language is ambiguous

A “Pass” means the submitted clip appears to meet the relevant rubric. A “Remain” means you should repeat the current game or stage before progressing. Remain is not failure.

You remain responsible for deciding whether feedback is suitable and safe for your dog.

7. Training outcomes and user responsibility

4muddypawz provides educational content, training pathways, progress tracking, and AI-assisted feedback to support dog training practice.

Dog training outcomes depend on many factors, including the individual dog, the handler, the environment, consistency of practice, timing, reward delivery, equipment, and safety decisions.

We do not guarantee any specific training outcome, behavioural improvement, progression rate, or result from use of the app.

You remain responsible for deciding whether any exercise, recommendation, or feedback is appropriate for your dog, your environment, and your circumstances.

8. Uploaded content

You keep ownership of your uploaded videos, photos, dog images, comments, and other content.

By uploading content, you give us a licence to host, store, copy, process, analyse, display, and use that content as needed to provide the app, generate feedback, manage your account, provide support, improve reliability, and enforce these terms.

This licence is limited to operating and improving the service. We will not use your uploaded videos, dog photos, name, testimonial, or reports in public marketing unless you give separate permission.

9. Upload rules

You must not upload content that:

  • you do not have the right to upload
  • includes other people without appropriate permission
  • includes children unless you are the parent/guardian or have appropriate permission
  • shows cruelty, dangerous handling, or illegal activity
  • includes private information such as addresses, phone numbers, private conversations, or identifiable third-party data unless necessary and appropriate
  • infringes someone else’s rights
  • is abusive, discriminatory, threatening, obscene, or unlawful
  • is designed to interfere with the app or its security

We may remove content, refuse processing, suspend access, or close accounts where we believe these rules have been breached.

10. Training materials and intellectual property

The app, training content, rubrics, reports, designs, text, graphics, video materials, code, and brand assets belong to us or our licensors.

You may use app content for your own personal dog training. You must not copy, resell, publish, scrape, distribute, train a competing system from, or commercially exploit app content without permission.

11. Service availability and processing delays

We aim to keep the app available and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

Processing may be delayed or fail because of connection issues, poor video quality, provider downtime, queue load, model errors, maintenance, or other technical issues.

We may update, pause, withdraw, or change features as the app develops.

12. Foundation, Academy access, and future subscriptions

Foundation is free. Academy is a paid 3-week digital programme, priced at £97 and currently reduced to £67. Paid Academy access does not auto-renew.

Before you buy Academy access, we will show the price, access period, what is included, any trial or reduced-price offer terms, the cancellation route, and the refund policy.

Secure payment is expected to be handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.

Deleting the app, closing your browser, not signing in, or not using the service does not cancel a paid order, refund request, or any future paid subscription. You must use the billing or support route shown in your account or checkout confirmation.

We are not currently offering a post-Academy subscription. If we later offer one, we will show the price, billing period, renewal terms, cancellation route, and refund terms before you subscribe. We will not move you from Academy into a paid subscription unless you knowingly agree to it.

Academy payment is expected to be handled by Stripe. Cancellation and refund requests should be made through the billing or support route shown in your account or checkout confirmation, or by contacting info@4muddypawz.co.uk.

13. Refunds and cooling-off rights

If you are a UK consumer buying online, you may have cancellation rights under consumer law. We will not exclude or limit any rights you have by law.

Because the paid Academy provides digital training content and AI-assisted feedback that may start shortly after purchase, your cancellation and refund rights may depend on whether you have started using the paid Academy, accessed paid content, submitted training clips, or received AI-generated feedback.

If you cancel before using any paid Academy features, you may be entitled to a full refund during any applicable cooling-off period.

If you have already started using paid Academy features, we may be entitled to charge for the service already provided, or your right to cancel may be affected where the law allows and where you gave the required consent and acknowledgement at checkout.

Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under UK consumer law.

14. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • misuse the app
  • try to access another user’s account
  • interfere with the app’s security or processing systems
  • reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the app
  • upload malicious files
  • use the app to create competing services without permission
  • use the app unlawfully
  • harass, threaten, or abuse support staff or other users

15. Third-party services

The app depends on third-party services, including hosting, storage, AI processing, payment, authentication, and email services.

We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control, but we will use reasonable care in choosing and configuring service providers.

16. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account if:

  • you breach these terms
  • payment fails
  • we believe there is security risk or misuse
  • your use creates legal, safety, or operational risk
  • we need to comply with the law

You may stop using the app and request account deletion, subject to legal retention requirements.

17. Limitation of liability

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights that cannot be excluded under consumer law.

Subject to that, the app is provided as a training support tool. We are not responsible for:

  • outcomes that depend on your handling, environment, dog, equipment, consistency, or safety decisions
  • losses caused by unsafe use of the app
  • loss caused by following feedback where it is unsuitable for your dog or environment
  • problems caused by poor clip quality or incomplete information
  • indirect or unforeseeable losses
  • business losses, where you are using the app as a consumer

18. Changes to the app or these terms

We may update the app and these terms as the product changes. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users.

Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms, unless a different process is required by law.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless consumer law gives you rights in another UK jurisdiction that cannot be removed.
